Microneedling Facial FAQs

HOW MANY SESSIONS OF MICRONEEDLING ARE RECOMENDED?

Rejuvention: 4-6 treatments, 4 weeks apart; Acne scarring: 6 treatments, 6 weeks apart; Pigment or Texture: 4-8 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart

SHOULD I PREPARE MY SKIN FOR MICRONEEDLING?

For optimal results, a period of effective active treatment products, such as Vitamin A, C or Resveratrol, is recommended to allow the skin’s strength to build up.

HOW LONG SHOULD IT TAKE BEFORE I NOTICE RESULTS?

Typically, you will see results after the first treatment. Lasting and more significant results will occur after 4-6 treatments. Your skin will continue to improve over the next 6-12 months after a course of treatments and when combined with the recommended post treatment care.

IS MICRONEEDLING PANIFUL?

For minimum needed depths, microneedling treatments are painless. Treatments over 0.25mm deep, may require a topical anesthetic to be applied 15-40 minutes before the procedure. This will ensure a virtually pain free treatment.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME AFTER MY MICRONEEDLING FACIAL?

Generally no, but you may experience facial redness for 12-72 hours after the treatment. Most people are able to return to normal daily activities immediately after the treatment. Application of a breathable camouflage will seal the skin and cover any redness for an immediate return to work.

HOW SOON AFTER FILLER INJECTIONS CAN I HAVE MICRONEEDLING?

It is recommended to wait at least 7 days after filler injections, so that any post treatment bruising from the fillers can settle. It is also possible to have microneedling done several days before having fillers injected. Ask your provider- we cannot dispense medical advice.

HOW MUCH DOES MICRONEEDLING COST?

Microneedling Facial is $300, please inquire about body treatments.

IS IT CUSTOMARY TO ADD GRATUITY TO MY SERVICE?

The industry standard for gratuity is 20% but the amount you choose to leave is at your discretion.

POST TREATMENT:

After the treatment, take precautions against sun exposure. Do not apply sunscreen for 12 hours after the Microneedling treatment due to the skin’s channels being open for a period of time and due to the toxic nature of some sunscreens on the market.

Do not perform any vigorous exercise for at least 12 hours after treatment.

Do not apply make-up for at least 12 hours after the treatment. We recommend Lira BB cream for use post procedure versus other foundations.

Microeedling may trigger a cold sore response in patients and a prophylaxis medication should be recommended to those who are prone to breakouts.

Wash the face thoroughly a few hours after treatment. Gently massage the face with tepid water, and remove all serum and other debris such as dried blood.

For the first 1-3 days the skin will be very dry and feel tight.

After 2-3 days patients can return to regular skin care products or as soon as it is comfortable to do so.

Avoid alcohol based toners 10-14 days.

Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 10 days if possible.

TREATMENT RECOVERY TIMELINE:

Day 1: Erythema and red appearance and severity will depend upon how aggressive the treatment was performed.

Day 2: A red hue or pink hue persists like a moderate sunburn. Swelling may be more noticeable on the second day.

Day 3-5: Skin can be pink or normal color. Swelling subsides.
